Review: Royal Lahaina Resort, Maui

A mid morning flight from Honolulu, Oahu saw us land to a sunny and beautifully warm Maui day. After collecting our hire car and our fancy-prancy GPS we were on the road to our chosen resort for our 3 night stay in Maui… the Royal Lahaina Resort. After some googling, trip advisor reading and consulting our budgets, this resort was perfect for our price range and honestly exceeded our expectations.

Review: Hilton Hawaiian Village, Hawaii

Travelling with my 2 travel buddies Angela & Arielle to Hawaii was always going to be a super fun, jam-packed girls trip. Staying in a super fancy resort whilst expensive, was a little bit of girls trip luxury that I’d love to share with you all. Upon doing a little research and discussing amongst each other, we decided that the Hilton Hawaiian Village resort would be the place for us to stay during our 6 day stay in Waikiki, Honolulu.

Whilst initially feeling like we were paying an arm and a leg for our room, once split between the 3 of us and looking up what the resort actually had to offer, the price didn’t seem quite so bad. We opted for a Resort View Ali’i Tower Double Room.  Continue reading

Review: DoubleTree By Hilton, Cairns

A spontaneous trip in November to Cairns saw me visiting and staying at the beautiful DoubleTree by Hilton hotel for 3 nights and 4 days. Our accommodation was already decided upon and booked as part of the terms of a Groupon discount myself and travel buddy purchased, however, there were no complaints here about not choosing our own hotel. It was actually quite relaxing knowing for once that we didn’t have to research a few hotels to find the best room, hotel and price compared to all the others.

We caught a short 10 minute cab to our hotel from the Cairns airport and were greeted with complimentary cookies (yum!) and bottle of champagne. We chose not to plan our holiday and booked everything we wanted to do through our hotel or on our own which worked out great for us.  Continue reading

A Day At: Warner Brothers Studios, California

When planning all of the fun touristy things I could do whilst visiting Los Angeles, discovering that Warner Brothers studios runs a VIP tour for fans to see the sets of some of their favourite television  shows and movies, there was no question about it… We were going. We booked our tickets online in advance and booked our time slot so that we could fit in everything we needed to. You have the options of a 2 hour VIP tour or a 5 hour Deluxe tour. We chose to do the VIP tour and we were not disappointed!

Review: Hilton Garden Inn, Hollywood

In August I visited Hollywood, Los Angeles for a week with my travel buddy Emma to see the touristy sites and just relax before flying back home to Australia. With many, many hotel options and areas of Hollywood to stay narrowing it down was difficult. Last time I visited Hollywood (in December 2013) I stayed in West Hollywood, so was wanting to stay somewhere different. We decided to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Hollywood because of its close proximity to Hollywood attractions like the Walk of Fame and Chinese Theatre yet was also a convenient distance away from other things we had planned such as Universal Studios and Warner Brothers Studios Tour.

This is why we chose to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Hollywood and why you should definitely consider it as an accommodation choice when visiting Hollywood:-  Continue reading

Review: Chancellor Hotel, San Francisco

When researching hotels to stay in San Francisco, you are overwhelmed by choices, hotel types and locations. After narrowing down my search to the Union Square area and determining my price range, the Chancellor Hotel in Union Square was our pick and it was definitely a great choice!

Review: Anaheim Marriott

When planning my holiday to California and being a HUGE Disney fan since I can remember, I knew Disneyland had to be on my list of attractions and places to visit. After doing research of hotels in the Anaheim area, we (my travel buddy Emma and I) chose to stay at the Anaheim Marriott hotel.

A Day At: The Making Of Harry Potter Tour, London

Growing up in the Harry Potter era, there was absolutely no question about it, I had to visit the Warner Brothers Studio Tour London: The Making Of Harry Potter whilst I was visiting London. Admittedly, I was a huge Harry Potter fan since the release of the first book (when I was only 10 years old) and still am to this day at age 22. I’d read all about the props, sets, costumes and audio guide featured in the tour and could not wait to experience this studio tour for myself.

Review: Fiesta Americana Condesa, Cancun

When researching hotel accommodation for Cancun in Mexico, I found that majority of the hotels were actually all-inclusive resorts. Having never stayed anywhere all-inclusive before, I definitely did plenty of research before deciding that Fiesta Americana Condesa was my top pick.

But why did I pick this hotel/resort and did it live up to my expectations?

Review: Clink78 Hostel, London

While usually my travel companions and myself prefer to stay in hotels with private rooms, sometimes, travel doesn’t go to plan. In 2012, due to unforeseen circumstance, our accommodation plans in London fell through… 2 days before departing Australia. Thanks to our amazing travel agent and my travel buddy’s mum, we were able to secure last-minute accommodation at the Clink 78 Hostel in Kings Cross, London for the 2 of us for 8 nights.
